CLARICE GENEVIEVE (BUROS) LORD
Clarice Lord, born Nov. 2, 1913 near Wesby, Wisconsin, died peacefully on Thursday, March 8th at the age of 98 in the Baltimore Washington Medical Center.
She was the daughter of the late Oscar Buros and Alma (Nottestad) Buros. She graduated from Westby High School in 1931, and was a graduate of the Wisconsin Business University, in LaCrosse.
After college she worked for a number of years at the TRANE Company, LaCrosse, Wisconsin. She married Howard James Lord in 1934, who was employed by the JC Penney Company. After his retirement they both worked for Beaver Dam, Wisconsin Community Hospitals for a number of years where she worked as a medical librarian.
Mrs. Lord was an artist, an avid reader, and loved gardening and the outdoors. She was an active member of the church and community wherever she resided. After the death of her husband in 1989, she moved to Severna Park to be near her daughter. She was a member of Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church.
She will be missed by her surviving children Nancy Lord Bishop and her husband Pete of Severna Park, MD; James Howard Lord of Knoxville, TN; John Charles Lord of Orlando, FL; brother Irwin and Carol Buros of Biroqua, WI, and sister Lorraine Yates of Indianapolis, IN. She is also survived by her grandchildren Mary Jean Bishop and Joanne Anderson, John Alex Bishop and his wife Genise, James Matthew Lord, Andrew Charles Lord and his wife Liberty, and great grandchildren Corey Alex Bishop, Alexandra Marie Bishop, Andrew John Bishop, Lea Christine Bishop, and Emily Aponi Lord.
A graveside service will be held at a later date at the historic Coon Prairie cemetery, in Westby, Wisconsin where Mrs. Lord interment will be next to her husband.
