Claire B. Larson, 101, a resident of Severna Park, passed away on January 20, 2015 at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis. She was born on December 19th, 1913 in Hackensack, NJ and was raised in a busy home with her extended multigenerational family.
Claire spent her twenties working in a local hospital. She met her husband, Tom, and married in 1943 just before he went off to war. After the war they moved to Maryland and eventually settled in Severna Park in 1951.
Claire helped her husband start and run an industrial equipment business although she described herself as a homemaker. She and Tom had four children: Judy, Elizabeth, Brad and Jim.
Claire has been involved with Al-anon, and encouraged families of alcoholics. Many will remember the quiet conversations with her of no-nonsense support – good counsel from a gentle demeanor with an iron backbone.
Claire was active in her church, her community, Bible Study Fellowship, and all of her family events.
Claire is preceded in death by Tom, her husband of 59 years and is survived by her four children, Judy Dumin, Elizabeth Gibbs, Brad Larson and Jim Larson. She has 6 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Friday, January 30, 2015 at 10:45am at Severna Park Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 110 Ritchie Highway, Pasadena, MD 21122.
