Christopher John Harden, 10, son of John S. and Debra A. Harden of Severna Park, died of respiratory failure May 10 at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Fairfax, Va., after a lengthy illness.
Christopher was born Dec. 13, 1993, in Annapolis and was raised in Severna Park. He was attending second grade at Benfield Elementary School.
He was a member of Cub Scout Pack 993 and Severna Park United Methodist Church where he sang in a choir. He enjoyed horseback riding, trains, cars, construction equipment and watching videos. He also loved babies and animals.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by one sister, Jessica L. Harden, and one brother, Nicholas H. Harden, of the home; his grandmothers, Ann Harrison of Severna Park and Helen Dryden of Estero, Fla.; and his great-grand-
parents, Eleanor and Downing Meyers of Severna Park.
Visitation is from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Severna Park United Methodist Church, 731 Benfield Road.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children, Fifth Floor Fund, Inova Health System Foundation, 8110 Gatehouse Road 200E, Falls Church, VA 22042, Attention: Sandra White.
