Christopher Roy Collins, 73, a resident of Arnold, MD for 40 years, died of brain cancer on May 22 at Hospice of the Chesapeake. Mr. Collins was born on July 6, 1934 in Montpelier, VT to the late Roy William Collins and Marion Foskett Collins. After graduating from Montpelier High School, where he served as class president, he earned a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 1956. He retired from Westinghouse Electric Company as a fellow engineer at the Bay Bridge Underseas Defense Center after 38 years. He later consulted on a number of sonar and acoustic programs. He was an active member of the parish of St. Margaret's Episcopal Church and served on the vestry there. He also served as treasurer of the Bayberry Community Association for 35 years for which he was recognized as Treasurer Emeritus. Mr. Collins coached youth sports teams for the Greater Arnold Recreation Association. His many hobbies included bridge clubs, walking club, traveling, fantasy sports competition, and growing grass. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Josephine; three daughters, Rose Ann Wade of Frederick, MD, Mary Jo Klovensky of Pasadena, MD, and Lynn Boumia of Iliff, CO; one son, Mark Collins of Crofton, MD ; one sister, Cynthia Socinski of Proctor, VT; eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, May 27th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home at 495 Governor Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park, MD. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, May 28th at St. Margaret's Episcopal Church, 1601 Pleasant Plains Rd. Annapolis, MD. Interment will be in Lakemont Cemetery, Davidsonville, MD.
