Christopher (Clyde Ignatius) Bollino, resident of Severna Park, passed away peacefully at his home on April 6, 2017, at the age of 76.  He was born on February 6, 1941 in Frostburg, Maryland.

Chris was preceded in death by his grandson, Adam Joseph Moore, and his parents, Vincent C. and Mary M. (Wells) Bollino.  He is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Delores Carolyn Burmeister Bollino. He is also survived by his loving children, Chuck Bollino (Barbara), Kelly Bollino Moore, Chris P. Bollino (Gina) and Debbie Siebold (George); his cherished grandchildren, Justin, Ryan and Alexander Moore; Michael, Matthew and Anna Bollino; Katherine (John) Tortorich; Luke and Amanda Siebold; CJ and Julia Bollino.

Chris is also survived by his siblings: Vincent (Fran) Bollino, Antoinette Bollino, Yvonne Sellers, Joseph (Sandra) Bollino and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Chris spent four years in the U.S. Navy as an Aviation Maintenance Technician and continued serving his country by volunteering for the Disabled American Veterans Transportation Network (DAVTN).  He began January 4, 2012 and continued until January 24, 2017 when his health affected his ability to drive.

Chris was a volunteer driver for the DAVTN at the Glen Burnie Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) for 6 years.  During those 6 years, he volunteered 1,668 hours, drove 22,993 miles and transported over 1,470 veterans to their VA medical appointments.

During a two year period while volunteering for the DAVTN, Chris provided support in many ways to an Annapolis homeless man and his wife.  He provided money, bedding, propane, and many other items necessary for outdoor living.  Chris shared his compassionate heart daily in dealing with the Veterans and the Glen Burnie Clinic.

At the DAV Department of Maryland Convention in May 2015, Chris received the DAV Department of Maryland Transportation Community Award for his outstanding support of veterans.  He was Sergeant of Arms of the DAV Chapter 13 and member of the DAV Auxiliary Unit 13 in Glen Burnie.  He volunteered in various food drives and Maryland's Operation Welcoming Home Our Troops at BWI from Iraq, Afghanistan and Germany. He was a great asset at the Fisher House Luncheon provided by the DAV Auxiliary where military families are provided housing close to their injured loved ones during their hospital stays.

Chris was a retired senior project manager from Johns Hopkins Hospital. His greatest joy in life was being a grandfather and he cherished all twelve of his grandchildren. He tried to make all of their games, recitals and activities. He always found ways to make them laugh and know how special they were to him. He consistently put his children and grandchildren before himself. He loved each of them unconditionally.
