Christian Robert Smith, 30, died Thursday, December 8, 2022, peacefully in his parents' arms after a lengthy battle with Glioblastoma Multiforme, a type of brain cancer.

Christian leaves behind his parents, Corinne and Frank Harris, his brothers Lawrence (Kalia Tison) Smith, Frankie Harris and Devin Harris and a sister, Marissa Smith Rinner. He also leaves his Grandparents, Sandra and Warren Nelsen, Joy Conners and Frani and Richard Smith along with many loving Uncles, Aunts, Cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his Grandfather David Conners, his Grandmother Shirley Harris and his Uncles Craig Conners, Charles Harris and Stephen Harris.

Chrisitan was blessed to have many close friends that were true brothers to him, which he met after moving to Arnold, Maryland in 1997. He attended Belvedere Elementary School, Severn River Middle School, Broadneck High School (class of 2010) and Anne Arundel Community College. Christians friends were very important to him and were a big part of his life. He enjoyed going to DTA (Downtown Annapolis) with his friends to attend concerts and events. He and his friends weren't strangers to mischief and had the kind of fun boys should have growing up near the water and in a safe community. He attended many happy hours with the guys for trivia and even more so for the discounted eats. He loved going to concerts, of all sorts, but especially rap and hip hop concerts, alone or with friends, it didn't matter, he just wanted to enjoy the music. He had a love for music of all types. He was creative and took pride in his "jam sessions" making music with his brother and friends.

He was an incredibly talented writer, whose love of writing started at a very young age by keeping detailed information on all his stuffed animals and kept stats on their football games and notes of all the trips his family took in his composition books, which then turned into writing songs of all kinds in those same books. His love for writing never ceased although it changed into his becoming a social media aficionado. He was involved in many different social media platforms, especially Twitter where he chatted, amused, shared and helped so many followers. He was loved by so many and made many personal friends through his social media presence.

He was able to experience love along the way with a few amazing women, who both cared for him during his illness, but also helped him live a life and experience travel, music and new friends along the way. He was lucky to have been able to live away from home and experience what Lititz, Pennsylvania and Nashville, Tennessee had to offer. He loved to travel and was able to DJ at an event in New York City, not long after his first craniotomy. He dreamed and planned to travel more extensively when he was well enough, but that day did not come.

Christian loved sports, all sports. He played football, baseball, basketball and wrestled when he was young. He was an avid Washington sports fan. He enjoyed watching, or tried to anyways, the Redskins/Commanders, Wizards, Nationals, Orioles and Capitals. He became a soccer fan in his 20's and enjoyed the Premiere Football League and learned that the team to follow to the championships would be Manchester City FC (😊.) Locally, he was a member of the American Outlaws, Annapolis Chapter and enjoyed cheering on the US men's and women's soccer teams.

His love for animals led him to foster a little puppy while living in Pennsylvania. He fell deep in love with his little guy and adopted his true love and companion and his best boy, Rush. Rush spent almost everyday of his life with Christian. The love between this man and his dog was lived out for all to see. Rush was by his side, protecting his Daddy, as he did, until the end.

Christian will be remembered for his kind and loving heart, his sense of humor and goofiness, his knowledge of all sports, his love for his family and friends and his baby boy Rush.

He was a true warrior in his battle and is a hero to all who knew him.

Life will never be the same without Christian here with us. Long live SquidDad.
