Christa Irmgard Kassatly, age 78, of Severna Park, Maryland, passed away on April 1, 2014 at the Anne Arundel Medical Center after complications from a stroke.

Christa was born in Hamburg, Germany on November 8, 1935 and moved to the United States in 1952 where she met and later married George Kassatly, her loving husband of 55 years. Christa also leaves behind three daughters; Claudia, married to Kevin Lusby of Severna Park, Lorice, married to Clifford Frost from Fulton, Missouri and Georgina, married to Douglas Pinckney of Skaneateles, New York. She was the proud grandmother of Kirsten, Eric and Steven Lusby, Michael and Karilyn Mason, Douglas and Madison Pinckney, Ian and Katherine Frost.

A consummate mother and homemaker, Christa loved to cook and prepare meals for her family and friends. She also enjoyed traveling and accompanied her husband overseas in work and vacations, including several years in the Middle East. She liked gardening, sailing, baking, mahjong and especially appreciated her time spent with friends and family.

A Celebration of Life will be held to honor the life of Christa on Sunday, April 27, 2014 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Chartwell Country Club. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice of the Chesapeake, 90 Ritchie Highway, Pasadena, MD 21122.
