Charles "Chuck" Howard Stevens, of Severna Park, MD, passed away peacefully at home on June 26th, 2024.

Charles was born on May 30th, 1962, in Annapolis, Maryland. He grew up in Severna Park and spent much of his early years at the Linstead Community Beach, where he would swim, fish, sail and explore the Severn River. In 1971, the family moved to England for three years. While his father was busy with work and mother and sister were off exploring Europe, he explored London and developed a fandom for Arsenal Football Club, a fandom he would maintain for life.

In the mid-1970s, back in the United States, a neighborhood friend asked if he would like to go to Maine. It was the first trip of many to Sebec Lake, just outside of the town of Dover-Foxcroft. Charles would continue to visit that lake almost every year for six decades, introducing family and friends to the area whenever he could.

He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) in Geography. Charles would go on to spend his entire career as a Cartographer for the United States Government.

After 30+ years of service, he retired. Upon his retirement, he loved to spend time with his friends and family. He rediscovered hobbies: coin collecting, James Bond and old TV shows. He found new interests, like biathlon.

A beloved son, brother, uncle, friend and colleague, Charles will be missed by so many. He radiated a magnetic social energy that anyone would want to surround themselves with. He was preceded in death by his parents, John I. Stevens and Marian Stevens (Rowe), and his sister, Ann Carol Moore. He is survived by his nephew, Nathan Moore.

A celebration of life will be held at the Linstead Community Beach on September 14th at 12pm.
