Charles Albert Sears, Jr., 77, a 38 year resident of Severna Park, died on May 28, 2009, at home, due to complication of blood disorders, after a 3 year illness.
He was born on July 14, 1931 in Annapolis, MD, where he was raised and has lived in Severna Park since 1971.
He served on the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Mr. Sears graduated from the University of Baltimore with a Business Science degree and was a retired System Analyst from the Department of Defense. After his retirement, he worked at Computer Science Corp ("CSC") for 7 years.
He enjoyed fishing, boating, gardening, woodworking, traveling, and social card playing of pinochle and cribbage.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel M. Sears of Severna Park, MD; son, Charles W. Sears of Norfolk, VA; daughter, Linda Tabisz of Severna Park, MD; son, Philip Sears of Washington, MI; daughter, Kathleen Feeney of Severna Park, MD; son, Thomas Sears of Severna Park, MD; son, Joseph Sears of Stevensville, MD; two brothers, James S. Sears of Annapolis, MD and Norman W. Sears of Annapolis, MD; and fourteen grandchildren.
Family and friends may visit on Sunday, May 31 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Gov. Ritchie Highway in Severna Park. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 1, 2009 at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery in Annapolis, MD.
