Charles Earl Ramsey Sr., 70, of Winter Haven, Fla., formerly of Arnold, died Sept. 19 at the Orange Park, Fla., Medical Center of complications from cancer after a 16-month illness.

Born Jan. 17, 1935, in Virginia and raised in Baltimore, Mr. Ramsey retired as an electrician at the Crownsville Hospital Center.

On Sept. 23, 1961, he married Nancy L. Ramsey, who died on Jan. 6, 2000.

Surviving are one son, Charles Earl Ramsey Jr. (Kelly) of Pickerington, Ohio; three daughters, Deborah Rasmussen and Brenda Rosenbaum, both of Arnold, and Dawn T. Lewnes (Tom) of Orange Park; two sisters, Joyce Listman of Winter Haven and Nancy Warfield of Delaware; and eight grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Betty Brown.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, with services to follow. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Park in Glen Burnie.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1041 Route 3 North, Gambrills, MD 21054, or the American Diabetes Association, 800 Wyman Parkway, Suite 110, Baltimore, MD 21211.
