Charles E. Miller, a cherished father and grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home in Brightview Senior Living in Annapolis, Maryland, on August 31, 2024. Born in Indiana, Pennsylvania, on May 16, 1935, Charles lived a life marked by dedication, service, and love.

Charlie was married to Alice W. Miller in 1965, and they remained together until her passing in 2004. As a couple, they raised a family in Severna Park, Maryland for more than 30 years. Charlie is survived by a sister, Sandra Schrode of Youngstown, Ohio and a brother, Tom Miller of Indiana Pennsylvania, as well as by his three sons and their families: Douglas and Ginger Miller, Andrew and Lauren Miller, all of Annapolis, and Dale and Holly Miller of Annandale, Virginia. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren, who filled him with pride and love: Hannah, Presley, Sydney Miller, Bella Mishoe, Hanna Mishoe, Drew Miller, and Patrick Miller, all of Annapolis.

A graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Charlie served in the U.S. Army and Army Reserve, retiring with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. After the military, Charlie had a career as an analyst for Amtrak which spanned over two decades. He was an active member of Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church in Severna Park since 1972. He served as an Elder and found great joy in participating in the "Rehabbers group"and men'sBible study, reflecting his deep faith and commitment to his community.

In addition to his service and professional accomplishments, Charlie had a passion for playing bridge, woodworking and a love for sports. He was a devoted fan of the Baltimore Orioles and Ravens (with a brief period of support for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penn State). His hobbies brought him much joy and were often a connection to his many friendships.

Charlie will be remembered for his kindness, integrity, and unwavering love for his family. His presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service celebrating Charlie's life will be held at Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church on September 20, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the church or a charity of choice in his honor.
