Charles A. Merson, 79, a resident of Annapolis, died on April 16, 2012 at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis.
He was born on November 28, 1932 in Baltimore, where he was raised, graduating from Polytechnic Institute in 1951.
He was a Senior Logistics Engineer for Westinghouse Oceanic Center, retiring in 1994. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1953-1955 and was in the Naval Air Reserve.
Charles was a member of the American Legion Post #175, Elks Severna Park #2482, and was a Kennel Club member. He enjoyed spending time with his family, boating, bowling, camping, fishing, crabbing, and playing the slots.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cynthia Cardosi.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Evelyn Merson of Annapolis; daughter, Melanie Cadle (Edward); son, Charles Merson, Jr. (Jan); son-in-law, James Cardosi; ten grandchildren, Jim, Nicki, Joey, Mike, Jeni, Melanie, Tammie, Rob, Tracie, and Chad; and six great grandchildren, Danielle, Evelyn, Lillie, Alexis, Bailey, and Baby.
Family and friends may visit from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy in Severna Park. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 20th at 10:30 am at the funeral home. Interment will be held on Monday, April 23, 2012 at 10:45 am at MD Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville, MD.
