Charles Markey
Charles Markey, 86, of Pasadena, died of natural causes May 12 at Chesapeake Hospice House in Linthicum.
Born July 13, 1918, in Carrenbrook, Pa., and reared in Nanty Glo, Pa., Mr. Markey also had resided in Alexandria, Va.
He served in the Army during World War II and worked as a plasterer.
Among his interests were fishing, hunting and working on cars.
His wife, Helen Markey, died Jan. 3, 2005.
Surviving are five sons, William Markey of Glen Burnie, Charles P. Markey of Kent Island, Wayne C. Markey of Kingsville, Richard R. Markey of Pasadena and Ronald D. Markey of Ridgely; one daughter, Linda K. Brown of Ashton; one brother, Andrew Markey of Ligonier, Pa.; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway in Severna Park. A funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Severna Park. Burial will follow in Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
