Charles L. (Roy) Phillips, Sr., 87 of Arnold died on April 10, 2018 at Hospice of the Chesapeake.

He was born to his parents, Charles and Elizabeth Phillips on May 13, 1930 in Baltimore where he attended Robert Poole School. Roy was employed by Koester's Bakery, Schmidt Bakery and Meyers Bakery in various positions. He was a life member of Earleigh Heights Volunteer Fire Company and the Kent Island Elks Club. He enjoyed going to Baltimore Colts games at Memorial Stadium and watching the Orioles and Ravens games on TV.

Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Phillips, whom he married in 1950. He is survived by his son, Roy Phillips, (Bonnie) of Bridgeville, DE; his daughters, Peggy Reese (Steve) of Arnold, MD and Mary Beth Whittington (Curt) of Arnold, MD; his sister, Sue Davis of Bel Air, MD; his companion, Betty Ziegler; as well as five grandchildren, Chuck, Amy, Amanda, Trent and Kendall; and six great grandchildren, Allie, Nick, Brady, Hayley, Josie, and Caroline.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 from 11am – 1pm at the Barranco and Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy. with a Memorial Service to follow at 1pm.
