Charles Kraus
Funeral services for Charles George Kraus, 84, of Severna Park will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway.
Mr. Kraus died of natural causes Oct. 15 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center after a two-month illness.
He was born March 20, 1923, in Erie, Pa., where he was also raised. He lived in Pasadena for two years, and in Severna Park for 48 years.
Mr. Kraus retired from the Maryland Correctional System in Jessup.
He served with the military police in the Army, and served in the Battle of the Bulge in the 112th Infantry, 28th Division.
He was a member of the Glen Burnie Elks and the Glen Burnie Moose, and was a former member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Police.
He enjoyed fishing, and watching baseball and football.
Survivors include his wife, Helen S. Kraus; one son, Charles George Kraus II of Greeneville, Tenn.; and one granddaughter.
Family and friends may visit from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
