Charles C. Hartman, Jr. 86 of Severna Park passed away on December 26, surrounded by his family. Charles, known as Buck, was born July 19, 1924 in Baltimore where he graduated from City College and Virginia Military Institute as a distinguished graduate. He graduated from Harvard Law School. Charles served as an attorney in Annapolis as a partner with the Hartman & Crain Law firm. He was elected to the original County Council from the 5th District. He proudly served on the commission that drafted the first Anne Arundel County Charter. Charles also served as President of the Chartwell Golf & Country Club in Severna Park.

Survived by his loving wife of 59 years Joyce Hartman, father of Linda Hartman Denny, of Ocean City, MD; Michael Hartman (Cathy) of Kingston, MA; Christian Hartman (Kathy) of Pasadena, MD and Davidson Hartman (Gretchen) of Gaithersburg, MD; brother of Preston Hartman of Myrtle Beach, SC; Christine Robinson of Hampstead, NC; Jay Spry of Centerville, MD; and grandfather of 10.
