Charles Douglas Braun (“Doug”)

Charles Douglas Braun, lovingly known as Doug, age 70, of Millersville, Maryland, passed away on June 24, 2026, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

Born on July 23, 1955, in Los Angeles, California, Doug was the son of Charles Albert Braun and Flora Gershon Braun.

Doug dedicated 35 plus years of his professional career as a contract and subcontracts administrator, beginning with Hughes Aircraft and concluding his career with Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation. He was respected by colleagues for his integrity, professionalism, and unwavering work ethic.

While Doug was proud of his career, his greatest accomplishments were found in the life he built with his family and the friendships he cultivated. He was known for his quick wit, infectious sense of humor, incredible generosity, and the ability to make everyone around him feel welcome. Doug never hesitated to lend a helping hand, whether to a friend, a neighbor, or a stranger in need.

His passion for serving others extended beyond his personal life through his volunteer work as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with the Earleigh Heights Volunteer Fire Company in Severna Park, Maryland. He found great purpose in giving back to his community, and his compassion touched countless lives.

Doug believed that life was about showing up for others. Whether responding to an emergency call, helping a friend with a project, or making someone laugh when they needed it most, he gave his time and his heart without expecting anything in return.

Above all else, Doug was a devoted husband and father. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family, creating lasting memories, sharing laughter, and supporting them in every chapter of life. Nothing brought Doug greater happiness than being “Dad.” Whether he was cheering from the sidelines, helping with homework, sharing a laugh at home, or simply enjoying everyday moments together, Christian and Madison were his greatest pride and joy. His love for his family was unwavering, and the lessons he taught, the laughter he shared, and the memories he created with them will remain in their hearts forever.

Doug is survived by his beloved wife of 12 years, Erin; his cherished children, Christian (11) and Madison (8); his sisters, Linda Robinson and Gayle Braun; his nephews, Brent Robinson and his wife, Michelle, Tyler Wentz, and Scott Rumney; along with many extended family members, dear friends, and colleagues who will miss him deeply.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Albert Braun, and his mother, Flora Gershon Braun.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Doug’s life at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P.A., located at 495 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, Maryland 21146, on Friday, July 3, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Baldwin Memorial United Methodist Church, located at 921 Generals Highway, Millersville, Maryland 21108.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the Earleigh Heights Volunteer Fire Company, reflecting Doug’s lifelong commitment to helping others.

Doug’s legacy is one of kindness, laughter, selflessness, and unconditional love. Though his passing leaves an immeasurable void, his spirit will live on in the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to know him. His smile, generosity, and unwavering devotion to his family and community will never be forgotten.
