Charles Robert DeRose, died on July 18, 2007 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
Mr. DeRose was born on Jan. 30, 1927 in Manhattan, Kansas. He received his degrees at Amherst University – Amherst, Massachusetts and University of MD. He also attended Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. He served in the Korean War and was awarded a Bronze Star and Korean Service Medal.
He worked at the State Department of Natural Resources and the State Department of the Environment where he retired after 45 years. He was a member of the Civitan's of Annapolis. He enjoyed woodwork, flower gardening, fishing, and being with his family.
Charles was predeceased by his father, Dr. Howard R. DeRose; his mother, Aileen DeRose; and his brother, John P. DeRose. He is survived by his wife Mary A. DeRose;
daughter, Jennifer A. DeRose Bargar of Arnold, MD; and daughter, Michelle Lynn Reeves of Hollywood, MD.
A visitation will be held at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home on Saturday, July 21 from 11am-1:00pm with a funeral service at 1:00 pm. Interment will be private.
