Charles William Bangert, Jr., born January 13, 1952, passed away the morning of October 8, 2004. The immediate cause of death was a heart attack, related to a diagnosed ALS medical condition. Charlie has been a resident of Olde Severna Park since 1977. Charlie was the son of Charles W. Bangert, Sr., and Bettie Kaiser Bangert, both recently decesed. He is survived by his loving wife of twenty-seven years, Ann Hughes Bangert. He is the father of their two adoring children, Katryn Ann, age 17, and Spencer Rhodes, age 15. He is also survived by his two loving sisters, Anita Bangert Israel of Cape Coral, Florida, and Betty Bangert Reese of Fort Myers, Florida. Mr. Edward Kaiser of Glen Burnie is his surving maternal uncle, and Yolanda E. Stedner of Camden, Maine, is his surviving maternal aunt. He is cherished by many nieces and nephews.
Charlie is a graduate of Severna Park High School and attended college at the University of Maryland, College Park. He has been a dedicated employee of the state of Maryland for over 29 years, working at Maryland Environmental Service at the time of his death.
Charlie was an active member of the Severna Park community, having held leadership positions in the Olde Severna Park Improvement Association. He was also President and Treasurer of the Jones Elementary School P.T.A. His intrests were many, especially boating, fishing, and gardening, but primarily, his family. He "liked to fish at dawn and cook at dusk". His family will sorely miss their loving husband, father, brother, and "baby mustard".
A celebration of his life will be held Tuesday the twelfth of October at 2:00pm at 800 Castle Marina Road in Chester, Maryland (Kent Island). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Association, 615 S. Frederick Ave. Suite 308 Gaithersburg, MD 20877
