Catherine Antoinette Thompson, 101, a former resident of Pasadena, MD, passed away on December 13, 2021 at the Carita's House in Baltimore, an assisted living facility supported by Catholic Charities.

Catherine was born to her parents, Elmer and Katherine Smith on November 5, 1920. She was a homemaker most of her life and in later years volunteered for the Cancer Society and Hospice of the Chesapeake, where she was named volunteer of the year in 2009.  She was a parishioner of St. Johns Church for over 50 years.  She had a full and wonderful life and loved her faith and her God.

She is survived by her son, David Thompson (Margaret); her daughter, Diane Griggs (Joseph); sister-in-law, Margaret Thompson; brother-in-law, Robert Parrish; 5 grandchildren, 5 great- grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, as well as, many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John David Thompson; and her brothers, Joseph and Donald Smith.

Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, December 22,2021 from 9:30-10:30am at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home and Cremation Care, P.A., 495 Ritchie Hwy. Severna Park, MD 21146.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at 11:00am at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 689 Ritchie Hwy. Severna Park, MD 21146.  Interment at Glen Haven Memorial Park.

The family is requesting anyone wishing to attend the viewing or Mass to please wear a mask.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake or the American Cancer Society.
