Catherine Tomasello Mahon, 51, a longtime resident of Arnold, MD, died in her home on March 8, 2009.
She was born May 20, 1957, to Sara "Sally" & John Tomasello in Washington, DC. She graduated from Woodward High School in Bethesda, MD, in 1975, and received a B.A. in special education from the University of Maryland in 1980. In the 1990s, she was a partner in Garry's Grill in Severna Park and The Main Ingredient in Annapolis. She also was co-owner/manager of Tarragon Lane Café and Catering from 2004 to 2006.
She loved children and was a home day-care provider for several years. She was active in her church, Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Annapolis, and especially in the New Vistas Ministry. She loved dogs, the beach, and traveling with her family. She also pursued many creative arts, including cooking, baking, entertaining, sewing, scrapbooking, and decorating.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Rhoads Mahon, whom she married on May 9, 1998; a daughter, Sara Jean Fields, 22; a son, John Gordon Anderson, 17; her mother, Sally Tomasello; a brother and sister-in-law, Ken and Tammy Tomasello; a sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Steven Rodriguez; and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Annapolis, 710 Ridgely Avenue, Annapolis, MD 21401. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to:
