Jeane Patricia Rowan Ross, 75, died of complications from Alzheimer's disease Oct. 10 at Severna Park Center, Genesis ElderCare Network, after a lengthy illness. Her husband, Carroll K. Ross, 77, died of cancer Oct. 14 at home after a five-month illness. They were residents of Severna Park for more than 36 years.
Born Feb. 5, 1931, and reared in Baltimore, Mrs. Ross was a homemaker who enjoyed quilting, sewing, Irish dancing and music.
Mr. Ross was born Nov. 22, 1928, and reared in Baltimore. He was founder and operator of Carroll K. Ross Brick Mason Co., a home-building company in the county, until his retirement in 1999. His interests included dancing, music and watching old movies.
The couple belonged to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Severna Park.
Surviving are two daughters, M. Noelle O'Toole of Severna Park and Lynne P. Roper of Berthoud, Colo.; one son, Carroll J. Ross of Brunswick, Ga.; his sister, Shirley Steinbach of Baltimore; and nine grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. A funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Friday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 689 Ritchie Highway in Severna Park. Burial will follow in the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
