Carroll J. Patten, 72, of Ridgely in Caroline County for five years and previously a resident of Severna Park for over 60 years, died of complications from cancer July 20 at Memorial Hospital in Easton.
Mr. Patten was born Dec. 10, 1935, in Baltimore to the late William and Delores Patten.
He worked as a job superintendent for Martin G. Imbach Marine Construction Co.
Mr. Patten served in the Army during the Korean War.
He was a member of the National Rifle Association and Ducks Unlimited, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Mae Patten.
Survivors include one son, Mark B. Patten of Ridgely; one daughter, Lisa C. Schell of Pasadena; two sisters, Linda Wiseman of Cordova and Judith Walters of Ellicott City; one brother, John B. Hewitt of Ridgely; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Family and friends may visit from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville.
