Carole Anne Madden, age 87, passed away peacefully and gracefully on October 13, 2024, due to her struggle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born February 22, 1937, to Andrew and Anna Kiss in Philadelphia, PA. She spent her early years in Roslyn, PA where she was married to her first husband, Herbert Jansen, in 1955, and had four children, Herbie, Betsy, Carol and Larry. After her divorce, she married William "Bud" Madden, in 1975 and they moved to Severna Park, Maryland.

Carole began her nursing career after obtaining her bachelor's degree at the University of Maryland. After becoming a registered nurse, she further enhanced her education with a master's degree. She spent her nursing career at North Arundel Hospital (now Baltimore Washington Medical Center).

Carole cherished opening her home to her large extended family and friends for the holidays and summer fun, which included spending much of the day at the Hatton Memorial Beach in Olde Severna Park. She also enjoyed gardening and finding unique treasures at flea markets, thrift stores and yard sales.

Carole is survived by her son and his wife, Herb and Leslie Jansen of Waynesboro, PA, daughter and her husband, Carol and Michael Ross of Severna Park, MD, grandchildren Charles Jansen, Connie Jansen Santana, Catie Jansen, Sara Shine and Amy Clancy, stepchildren Margie and Ed McFadden, David and Bernadette Madden and Kevin and Cathy Madden, step grandchildren Kelly Switzer, Dan and Steve McFadden, Bill, Brian, Sean and Michael Madden, Ryan Madden and Julia Draniczarek. Carole was blessed with 13 great grandchildren. Carole shared a special relationship with her sisters-in-law Gail Lasser, Marie Madden and Marie Martini.

Carole was preceded in death by her brother Ronald Kiss, first husband, Herbert Jansen, second husband, William Madden, daughter, Lizabeth Jansen, and son, Lawrence Jansen.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 28, 2024, 11:00 AM at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P.A., 495 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, MD 21146.
