Obituary

Carole Wallace Barnett, 58, a resident of Severna Park for 11 years and previously of Davidsonville, died of ovarian cancer Aug. 28 at her home after a seven-year illness.

Born June 30, 1948, in Washington, D.C., Mrs. Barnett lived in Chevy Chase and graduated from Holy Cross High School in Garrett Park, She attended Anne Arundel Community College, where she studied psychology.

A gifted writer and passionate photographer, her interests included art, music, travel, writing poetry, and studying nature. She especially enjoyed spending time at Sandy Point State Park.

She was a member of the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition and the St. Peregrine Cancer Support Group at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.

Surviving are her daughter, Allena S. Barnett of Glen Burnie; one sister, Sherri A. DiCarlo of Rockville; one brother, James J. Wallace of Hagers-town; and one grandson.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday at St. John the Evangelist Church, 689 Ritchie Highway in Severna Park. Burial is private.
