Carol Ann Shea, 60, of Annapolis, passed away peacefully on May 31 in the company of her beloved family and friends.

Born on Sept. 28, 1961, in New Haven, Connecticut, Carol grew up in Warminster, PA, and graduated from William Tennent High School in 1982. She has been a resident of Annapolis since 1992.

Carol approached each day with a sense of joy. She loved getting up and going to work each day, music, dancing, her dogs, and celebrations of every kind, and was unfazed by her three teenage nephews and their energetic friends. She was never at a loss for words, and could summarize most people or situations with a witty phrase.

She worked at Providence Center in Arnold for 20 years. She leaves behind her sister Diane Bragdon (Doug), her sister Ellen Lye, her nephews James Bragdon (Carissa), George Bragdon (Jessica), Danny Bragdon (Roni), Lenny Lye (Leida), Michael Lye (Susan), and a host of cherished friends and memories.

Carol's family is grateful for the help and guidance she received from the job coaches and staff at Providence Center, the loving care she received for the last two years from the ARC staff, and the incredible support of the nurses and staff of Hospice of the Chesapeake. In Lieu of Flowers, we request donations be made to ARC of Central Chesapeake, Providence Center of Anne Arundel County, Hospice of the Chesapeake.

A celebration of Carol's life is being planned for a later date by her family.
