Born in Baltimore, MD January 4 th , 1947 to the late John Frederick Seitz and Mary Hart Seitz.  Carol was raised in Arbutus, Maryland, graduating from Catonsville High School in 1964.  While attending the University of Maryland, Carol met her husband John, and they were married in August of 1967.  A career Professional and MD State Employee, Carol began her career in 1964 with the Motor Vehicle Administration, after several years, she moved to the Governor's office as the administrative assistant to the late Governor Harry Hughes', Chief of Staff.  Post Governor Hughes' term, Carol began a long career as the Public Information Officer with the Maryland Stadium Authority (MSA) in 1986.  As part of the original Executive Administration team, she was intimately involved and responsible for several key MSA initiatives including Oriole Park @ Camden Yards, Baltimore Ravens and Cal Ripken Jr stadium projects and management/operation.  Carol very much enjoyed her work in supporting the MSA board and fostering relationships between MSA, and the Baltimore Ravens and Orioles organizations and retired in 2010.

Carol was not only a career professional but a proud, dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many.  Known universally for her sharp wit and sense of humor, Carol was a natural magnet for all she knew and often a few she didn't…(yet).  Her warm and inviting nature were always sincere and welcoming to those in her presence and her preference for a smile – or to make you smile – was front and center.  Never one to miss a beautiful day or opportunity, Carol was the Carpe Diem pioneer of the ad-hoc fieldtrip, lunch date, sunny-day drive or catching a ballgame with her family and friends.  An avid reader and global traveler, she took in all the world had to offer and in turn gave back all of herself with a contagious smile.

Carol is survived by her husband of 54 years, John T Salmon of Millersville, MD, her son, John F. Salmon of Sparks, MD and Carol's three grandchildren, Conor Salmon, Emma Salmon and Liam Salmon, her daughter Michelle Salmon & daughter in law, Sarah Hammond of Annapolis, MD and her brother, Fred Seitz and his wife Kathy Foxhall, of Hyattsville, MD.
