Carol S. Potak of Annapolis died of cancer Oct. 28 in her home after a six-month illness.
Mrs. Potak was born in Bethlehem, Pa. to Mary Jane Schimmel and the late Thomas Schimmel.
She worked as a medical receptionist for Allergy and Asthma Associates in Arnold.
She was a member of the American Legion Post 175 and the Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, reading, puzzles and camping.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph M. Potak; two daughters, Lindsay Jane Potak Guiberson and Ashley Elizabeth Potak of Annapolis; one brother, Christopher Schimmel of Raleigh, N.C.; and one sister, Sally Martin of Stroudsburg, Pa.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Barranco and Sons P.A. Severna Park Funeral home, 495 Ritchie Highway. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1041 Rt # 3 N, Bldg. A, Gambrills, MD 21054.
