Carol Jean Pedone passed away on April 20, 2024, 2 days shy of her 96th birthday.

Preceded in death by her parents William and Nina Krebs and her brothers William and Robert, Carol grew up in Gowanda NJ, before moving to Nutley, NJ where she attended High School.

She headed off to Western Maryland College, now known as McDaniel College, where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in teaching.  While there she met her future husband, Clifton Joseph Pedone, whom she married in June of 1949.  They celebrated 68 years together before his passing in 2017.

Carol and Cliff had lifelong friends with the "college gang" as they were affectionately called.  The group spent more than 50 years together celebrating many of life's milestones, New Year's Eve parties and vacationing together.

The group as a whole would spend a week at Dewey Beach, Delaware.  While there, every families children became fast summer friends and enjoyed gathering for beach bonfires and digging for clams.

Carol and Cliff started their family in Pikesville, moved to Salisbury, before settling in Severna Park, MD in 1972.  She taught Kindergarten in Salisbury and worked many years as a bookkeeper in Annapolis.

Carol loved music.  For years, she enjoyed performing with the Annapolis Choral.  She also played the piano and guitar and sang at home to the delight of her family.

She had a love for all games, hosting bridge club with her college friends.  She played dominos and could do a word search puzzle in minutes.

She did countless needlepoints making special items for all in the family.  She later turned her attention to knitting.  She knitted "lower leg" blankets for anyone who could use them.  Rarely did you see her without her red knitting bag with yarn, needles and a few puzzle books inside.

They traveled on great adventures across the United States, visiting Egypt and cruised the Mediterranean.  A 50th anniversary trip with their children and grandchildren to Bermuda was a wonderful time for all.

Carol is survived by her son, William Pedone (Amy) of Arnold, MD; and her two daughters, Susan Luers (Joseph) of Red Lion, PA and Peggy Menzies (Kenneth, JR) of Chester, MD; Grandchildren, Katherine Kauffman (Chris) and Jessie Rufle (Derek) of PA, Joshua Luers of FL, Kirstin Miller (Jordan) and Kenneth, III (Melissa)of MD, and great-grandchildren, Megan Luers, Brady and Sean Rufle, Grace and Daniel Kauffman, Asher and Josie Miller, and K. Graeme Menzies, IV.

Family and friends may visit on Saturday April 27th from 2-3pm at Barranco Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park MD 21146, with a memorial service beginning at 3pm.
