Carol Lee LaRotonda (nee Hale) of Millersville, Maryland passed away at Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center on the morning of January 12, 2019 at the age of 64.

The youngest of 3 daughters, she was born on May 17, 1954 in White Plains, New York to the late Richard and Doris Hale of Severna Park MD. She spent her childhood in New York, California and finally came to Severna Park, Maryland where she graduated from high school. Carol attended Rollins College in Florida where she received a BA in Behavioral Sciences and went on to earn a Masters degree in Applied Behavioral Science from Johns Hopkins University.

Carol met her husband Tom when they were both employees of Westinghouse Defense Electronics Center in Baltimore, and they were married in 1978. Carol enjoyed a successful career in Human Resources at Westinghouse and she later continued her career in HR and Training at Office Depot and several other companies.

Carol and Tom adopted 2 daughters, Kelly in 1984 and Krista in 1987. Carol absolutely adored her children and was the epitome of the super mom as she balanced her career and family life. Their close-knit family started in Maryland, then moved to Florida, California, New York and eventually back to Maryland. Moving around led to many great adventures and experiences - many involving the beach where she loved to sit under an umbrella watching the waves or reading a good book. She also enjoyed family trips overseas including China, many countries in Europe and Australia.

She is survived by her loving husband, Tom, her two daughters, Kelly and Krista, her sister Debra and her husband Terry, her sister Linda and her husband John, and her rambunctious Greater Swiss Mountain dog, Oscar. She is also survived by 13 nieces and nephews, many grand nieces and nephews, brothers and sisters in-law, and many wonderful friends. She will be missed dearly, but remembered for her kindness, patience, laughter, generosity and genuine dedication to everything she did.

Family and friends may visit her Celebration of Life on Friday, January 18, 2019 from 1-3pm or 5-7pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, MD 21146.

A memorial service will be offered at 11am on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Severna Park United Methodist Church located at 731 Benfield Rd, Severna Park, MD 21146.
