IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carol Anita
Coffman
June 14, 1934 – March 22, 2025
Carol Anita Coffman, 90 years young, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and entered into the presence of the Lord on Saturday, 3/22/2025 in Severna Park, MD. She is survived by her children Donna Gaines (Boyd Gaines), Mike Campbell (Laura Campbell), stepson Karl Coffman, stepdaughter Christie Daniels (Shane Daniels), and stepson Courtney Coffman (Catherine Coffman). Carol leaves behind a beloved older brother, William Gawler. Carol is also survived by multiple grandchildren including Megan DeChant, Sean Campbell, Ryan Campbell, Sara Daniels, and Raven Lukens. Great-grandchildren include Liam Smoak, Frank Lukens Jr. and Reagann Lukens.
Carol grew up in Northwest Washington, D.C. area and as a young adult spread her wings and took a job with the CIA in the American Embassy in Santiago, Chile where she met her first husband David Campbell and became a Marine wife for many years. The CIA job was her favorite job of all times!
In May of 1976, Carol married the love of her life, John Coffman and they started a beautiful journey of exploring the world and the US especially in various RV motorhomes. They enjoyed being winter snowbirds to Naples, FL for many years and developed many long- term friendships. Carol was an avid tennis player for many years ("keep your eye on the ball!") and made many long-lasting friendships both on and off the court. Carol's other passions included playing cards (especially bridge and rummy), cooking, dining out, watching Animal Planet, playing Jenga with family (and making up her own rules), wearing stylish fashion and lipstick as well as spending time with family and friends.
Since February 2005 when her dearly loved husband, John passed away, her family created many happy memories for her. The one wish she leaves for her family is that they each experience a wonderful fulfilling life. She regrets that she would no longer be able to share their love and companionship.
