Carl Michael Hudak, 78, a resident of Annapolis, died on May 13, 2013 at Anne Arundel Medical Center He was born in Baltimore Md, to John Hudak and Marie Zeman. Carl was a graduate of Baltimore Polytechnic Institute and started his career as an electronics technician, packaging telemetry and electronic flight systems. While working as a technician during the day, he went to evening college over a ten year period and earned his degree in engineering from The University of Maryland. He was a co-founder of several start up companies, and over time was promoted to an executive Vice President position while with Logicon and then with Northrop Gruman. He had over 40 years of experience in applying technology solutions to military and aerospace products, systems, and services He was also involved in The University of Maryland's Space Research Group as well as being a member of the launch and telemetry teams at various NASA space centers. Carl spent much of his career involved with aircraft instrumentation, mechanical systems, crew survival and habitability. He also served in the National Guard.

Carl was an avid electronic hobbyist and history buff. His last project was to write an historical fiction on the Pendergast court martial that occurred during the last year of the civil war.

He will be deeply missed by his cousins, Paul Langford of Annapolis , Joan Peters of Austin Texas, and Ann Langford of Southern Pines NC.. But he will be especially missed by his older brother, John Hudak. Carl enjoyed a life of close family and friends, boats, books, dry martinis, cigars, and the breakfast club at Chick and Ruth's.

A memorial service will be held on Sat, May 18th, 1PM, at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, MD. A private interment will be held Monday afternoon in the Bohemian National Cemetery, Baltimore MD.
