Camille "Millie" Kane, 87, a resident of Arnold, passed away January 6, 2014 at Mandrin Hospice House. Mrs. Kane was born April 2, 1926 in Morristown New Jersey, to the late Rocco and Antoinette Di Taranto. The family relocated to Hartford, Connecticut, to be with other family members. She was graduated from the Hartford Public High School in 1945. She was employed by the Connecticut Mutual Life Insurance Company in their Stenno Department. She then met Daniel Kane and they were married September 13, 1947. They had three children, Daniel, Charlene, and Michael.
Dan was a traveling salesman and eventually they relocated to Arnold, Md. When the children became teens, she was employed by the Variable Annuity Life Insurance Company, in their Tax Sheltered division. She eventually became Supervisor of the Payroll and Compensation Department. She loved working there. She loved and respected the girls she worked with, the agents, and the office managers. She retired October 29, 1993.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her son Daniel M. Kane.
Surviving are her husband Dan, her daughter, Charlene and son, Michael and his wife Helen. She was also survived by her granddaughter, Michelle, grandson, Michael, and great grandchildren, Adriana and Michael Kane. She also leaves a dear brother, Michael Di Taranto and his wife Marcia, and a nephew Michael Di Taranto and a brother- in- law, George C. Kane.
She loved her home. She enjoyed working, outdoors, reading, doing crosswords, and most of all she loved her family, and especially her precious great grandchildren Adriana and Michael.
Friends may visit at Barranco and Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home on Friday from 5-8 pm. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 9 am at St. Mary's Church, Annapolis. Entombment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.
