Calvert Milton Watts, 73, a 20 year resident of Hanover, died on January 17, 2011 at the Veterans Hospital in Baltimore.
He was born on December 30, 1937 in Lansdowne and was raised in Millersville, graduating from Glen Burnie High School in 1955. He lived in Pasadena prior to moving to Hanover.
Calvert served in the Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He played country music with his band "Cal and the Cavaliers", worked as a truck mechanic for Hertz Penske and Maryland Mobile Trailer Services, and he formerly enjoyed gardening.
He was preceded in death by his son, Alan R. Watts and his brother, Raymond Watts.
He is survived by his wife, Darla Kaye Watts;daughter, Stacey Marie Ambuehl and her husband Mike of Pasadena; son, Douglas Calvert Watts of Pasadena; granddaughter, Keira Marie Watts; brothers, Charles Watts of Annapolis, Richard Watts of Pasadena; Kenneth Watts of Glen Burnie, James Watts of Millersville, Michael Watts of Glen Burnie; and sister, Veronica Fincham of Millersville.
Family and friends may visit on Friday, January 21, 2011 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy in Severna Park.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday at 1:00 pm at Baldwin Memorial United Methodist Church, 921 Generals Hwy, Millersville, MD 21108. Interment will be private.
