Calvert Castle Chapline, 94, a resident of Charlestown Retirement Community in Catonsville since 2001, died of Parkinson's disease Feb. 11 at the Dorsey Center at the retirement home.
Born Dec. 27, 1912, and reared in Baltimore, Mr. Chapline attended Baltimore City College. He lived in Broadwater on the Magothy in Arnold from 1959 to 1987 and also in Severna Park. He worked as a printing salesman for more than 50 years before retiring in 1990.
He was a member of a Masonic Lodge and the Boumi Temple and enjoyed boating.
His wife, Mary Emma Chapline, died in 1988.
Surviving are two sons, Gordon Calvert Chapline of Lutherville and Dennis Weston Chapline of Glassboro, N.J.; one daughter, Janice Lee Chapline of Arnold; his companion, Isabelle Lorger of Charlestown Retirement Community; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday followed by the funeral at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, 5829 Ritchie Highway, Brooklyn Park.
