Byron "Benny" Green died of cancer in his Arnold, Maryland home on April 15, 2011.

Born December 19, 1925, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, he joined the Navy after graduating from high school and was a musician and instrument repairman in the United States Naval Academy Band for 30 years. He then established "Benny's Instrument Service" which repaired and serviced musical instruments for bands, schools, and music stores all over Maryland until he retired from the business to enjoy spending time with his family.

Music and family were very important to Benny, and he is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Mary Ann Green of Arnold, three daughters, Kelly Sue Allen of Denton, MD, Claudia Diane Newman of Pasadena, MD, Paula Kay Bryans of Sacramento, CA, six grandchildren: Rachael Maree Allen of Annapolis, MD; Emily Allen House of Greensboro, MD; Jeffrey Michael Mollica of Annapolis, MD; Laura Ann Mollica of Grasonville, MD; Anna Otilia Newman and Paul David Newman, Jr. of Pasadena, MD, and two great grandchildren: Maggie and Dawson House of Greensboro, MD. He is predeceased by his son, Jeffrey Byron Green of Oxnard, CA, and a daughter, Cheryl Ann Green of Arnold, MD.


Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 from 4-7 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway in Severna Park. A service will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday, April 21, 2011 at 11:30am. Internment will be private.
