Brian Edward Haas passed away on October 23, 2026, at the age of 79. Born and raised in St. Johns, Michigan, Brian attended Michigan State University before moving to Maryland. He spent many years in Severna Park, where he raised his family and built a respected career, later living in Annapolis before retiring to Pawleys Island, South Carolina.

Brian devoted much of his professional life to owning and operating a small construction company in Severna Park. Through the projects he completed and the relationships he built throughout the industry, he made a lasting contribution to the community. His work and influence continued to be remembered long after his retirement—a testament to the care, dedication, and experience he brought to his profession.

In retirement, Brian embraced life in Pawleys Island. He enjoyed golf and poker, especially time spent with his many friends and his longtime girlfriend, Cindy McKenzie. He treasured the camaraderie, laughter, and good times that came with those friendships. He was also a dedicated volunteer at All Saints Church, where he spent time working in the kitchen at Island Grace Café, helping provide meals and fellowship to others in the community. At home, he found companionship in his two beloved cats and took special pleasure in feeding and caring for stray cats and even an occasional turtle.

Brian was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gloria Haas; his parents, Frank “Earl” and Norma Haas; and his brother, Richard “Dick” Haas.

He is survived by his daughter, Michele Haas; his son, Christopher Haas; his grandchildren, Millicent Haas and Bennett Haas; his brothers, Terry, Bruce, and Doug; and his longtime girlfriend, Cindy McKenzie.

Brian will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. He leaves behind a lasting legacy in the work he completed, the friendships he cherished, and the memories he created with those who were fortunate to share in his life.
