Brenda Aurestila Chevis, 52, unexpectedly passed away on July 17, 2018 at The University of Maryland Medical Center.

Brenda was born on January 19, 1966, in the Philippines, to Ernesto Caasi and Elizabeth Aurestila. She graduated from Ortanez University High School in Quezon City, Philippines in 1978. Brenda met Gregory C. Chevis in 1989 in Angeles City, Philippines, and married on July 1, 1992. They moved to Tuscon, Arizona shortly thereafter, then to Goldsboro, North Carolina, and finally moved to Maryland in 1998. They lived in Essex, Parkville, Severn, and then Pasadena, where she resided until her passing.

Brenda worked at GE Healthcare as a production associate for eight years, and part-time at Royal Farms as a customer service representative, but her most passionate profession was being a private caregiver in the home-health field. She also recently went into business for herself selling Atomy products. Her hobbies included singing, decorating, and shopping.

She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Gregory C. Chevis; her sons Gregory C. Chevis Jr. and Joseph N. Chevis; her daughter and son-in-law, Giovanna R. Chevis D'Annunzio and Ryan J. D'Annunzio; her younger siblings: brother, Ariel Caasi; brother and sister-in-law, Raul Caasi and Emalinda Caasi; sister, Emang Caasi; sister and brother-in-law, Marilou Alba and Joseph Alba; her parents, Ernesto Caasi and Elizabeth Aurestila; and eight nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may visit on Friday, July 27, 2018 from 11 am to 12 pm at the Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park, MD 21146. A Funeral Service will be held at 12 pm immediately following the visitation. Interment will be held privately at the Maryland Veteran Cemetery in Crownsville.
