Billy Jackson
Retired Army Sgt. 1st ClassBilly D. Jackson, 71, of Glen Burnie, died of cancer July 15 at Mandrin Chesapeake Hospice House in Harwood after a brief illness.
Born Oct. 22, 1935 in Waco, Texas and raised in Houston, Texas, Sgt. Jackson served in the Vietnam War and retired from the Army in 1980. Following retirement, he worked for 10 years as an instrumentation and control technician at the Multi-Amp Corp. in Dallas, Texas.
Mr. Jackson lived for nine years in Zephryhill, Fla., where he was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed bowling and golf.
Surviving are his wife, Jeanette Jackson of Glen Burnie; one stepson, David Brown of Portsmouth, Va.; one step-Joan daughter, Dianne Maranto of Severna Park; two brothers, Gene Mallory of Bay Town, Texas, and Bobby Mallory of Houston, Texas; and three step-grandchildren.
A celebration of Sgt. Jackson's life will take place at 2 p.m. Friday at Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church, 611 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd., Severna Park. Burial is private. Arrangements are by Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home.
