Bill Sergent, 66, a 30 year resident of Arnold, died on December 30, 2013 at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis.

He was born on February 5, 1947 in Sidney, NE, was raised in Lodgepole, NE, and graduated from Lodgepole High School and the University of Nebraska. He earned his Bachelors in Psychology and Chemistry and Masters in Business Administration. He also lived in Lincoln, NE prior to moving to Arnold.

Bill worked for Air Products and Chemicals, MG Industries, and then served as President of Airgas. In 1990 he founded his own company Cryogas, Inc.

He loved cars and restoring old cars, hunting, and singing in the church choir. He especially loved spending time with his family.

Bill was preceded in death by his son, Kent W. Sergent.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Karen R. Sergent (nee Deaver) of Arnold; one son, Dana W. Sergent of Minneapolis, MN; and two grandchildren, Samuel K. Sergent and Nora C. Sergent.
A Memorial Mass will be offered on Friday, January 3, 2014 at 11:00 am at St. Andrew by the Bay, 701 College Pkwy, Annapolis, MD 21409. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Junior Diabetes Research Foundation, 26 Broadway, 14th Floor, NY, NY 10004.
