On December 7 ^th , 2018, Mrs. Betty Louise Zick was called home to Heaven to be with our Lord and her husband, Pastor Elmer L. Zick, Jr.  Betty was born Betty Louise Gray (Urban) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, of the late Gladys and Louis Gray on November 14, 1930.  She has two younger surviving sisters, Barbara Vassilaros of Englewood, Florida and Dorothy Johnson, of Chestertown, Maryland.

Betty married the love of her life, the late Elmer Louis Zick, Jr.  on September 14, 1955.  She and Elmer had 5 children, Mark, Paul, Timothy, John, and Ellen.  She and Pastor Zick served at Lovi Lutheran Church and Perry Hall Lutheran Church in Pennsylvania for one year before moving to Christ Lutheran Church on Jumpers Hole Road in Millersville, MD where they both served for 36 years.  After retiring on June 13, 1992, both Betty and Elmer moved to Augsburg Lutheran Home & Village to serve for 10 years before retiring a second time in Millersville and Glen Burnie, MD.

Betty lost her love, Pastor Elmer L. Zick on April 24 ^th , 2016 and moved to assisted living at Augsburg Lutheran Home & Village where she resided until passing.  She is survived by her five children, Mark and Carol of Shrewsbury, PA; Paul and Dale of Arnold, MD; Timothy and Sandy of Stewartstown, PA; John and Sharon of Toddsville, MD; and Ellen and Leonard of Ruskin, FL.  She is grandmother of nine; Daniel, Ashley, Kristen, Alyssa, Tyler, Brandon, Jenna, Justine and Chelsea AND great grandmother of seven; Preston, Lawson, Avery, Claire, Aria, Ares and Eros.

Family and Friends will honor Betty's life at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park, MD on Thursday, December 13 ^th from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm.  A church service will be held Friday, December 14 ^th , at 12 pm with a viewing prior to the service from 11 am to 12 pm at Christ Lutheran Church, 8245 Jumpers Hole Road, Millersville, MD.  Betty will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, Elmer, at MD Veterans Cemetery, 1122 Sunrise Beach Rd., Crownsville, MD, following the church service with a celebration of life afterward back at Christ Lutheran Church.  Memorials may be made to Christ Lutheran Church, 8245 Jumpers Hole Road, Millersville, MD or Augsburg Lutheran Home and Village, 6825 Campfield Road, Baltimore, MD 21207.
