Betty Miller Scott, 89, a longtime resident of Cape St. Claire, passed away on May 29, 2022 at Spring Arbor Senior Living in Severna Park.

Betty was born to her parents, Andrew and Bessie Miller on July 4, 1932, in Westernport, MD, where she was raised. She graduated from Bruce High School in Westernport and later attended Frostburg State University and Shippensburg University, where she earned her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Education, respectively. She was employed with Anne Arundel County as a teacher at Cape St. Claire Elementary from 1971-1995, when she retired.

Betty was a member of Arnold Senior Center. She enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting, and traveling with family and friends over the years. She was a proud sports fan of her sons and grandchildren, attending countless games.

Betty is survived by her three sons, David Scott (Mary Ann) of Davidsonville, Walter Scott (Doreen) of Reisterstown, and Tom Scott of Annapolis; as well as, her seven grandchildren, Christopher, Joseph, Brian, Dakota, Crescenzo, Braedyn, and Ryan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Francis Scott in 1986.

Friends may visit on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, from 5pm – 8pm at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P.A., 495 Ritchie Hwy Severna Park, MD 21146. A funeral service will be held at 9am on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at Cape St. Claire UMC, 855 Chestnut Tree Drive, Annapolis, MD 21409. Interment will follow at MD Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville at 10:45am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Betty's name to Cape St. Claire United Methodist Church.
