Betty K. Herrmann (nee West), 86, died peacefully in her home on August 9, 2012 after a lengthy illness from complications of Parkinson's Disease.
She was born on November 6, 1925 in Baltimore and was raised in Towson.
Betty lived in Severna Park for the past 50 years with her husband of 58 years, Louis O. Herrmann, whom she married in 1954.
She worked for 11 years for the B & O Railroad before becoming a devoted wife, caring mother, wonderful grandmother and great grandmother.
Her interests were international travel, quilting, antique collecting, needlepoint, and she was an avid bridge player. Betty and her husband traveled together to all 50 states. She loved spending time with family and friends and adored her grandchildren and great granddaughter.
Betty is survived by her loving husband, Louis O. Herrmann of Severna Park; her children, Bruce W. Herrmann of Los Altos, CA, Amy K. Degenhard of Severna Park, and Mike Herrmann of Baltimore; five grandchildren; and one great granddaughter. Also, survived by her brother, William West of Williamsburg, VA.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 11 AM at Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, 400 Benfield Road, Severna Park, MD 21146. Interment will be at a later date in MD Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
