Betty Louise Filanowski, 84, of Hyattsville, died of complications from heart surgery on Nov. 3 at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore after a brief illness.
Mrs. Filanowski was born Nov. 29, 1921, in Indiana, Pa., where she was reared and attended high school.
She worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigation and as a telephone operator in Pittsburgh, Pa., and for the telephone company in Washington, D.C.
Her interests included gardening, needlepoint and family oriented activities.
Surviving are her husband, Michael E. Filanowski of Arnold, whom she married in 1950; two daughters, Rebecca Burner of Grasonville and Mary Rogers of Highland in Howard County; one son, Matthew Filanowski of Arnold; one sister, Margaret Gates of Curwensville, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services and burial are private. Arrangements are by Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home.
