Beth L. Jones, 47, a two-year resident of Odenton and formerly of Arnold and Los Angeles, died unexpectedly Oct. 20 at home.

The daughter of Theo Rayner of Draper, Utah, and the late Denise Rayner, Mrs. Jones was born April 7, 1960, in Inglewood, Calif., and reared in Simi Valley, where she graduated from Simi Valley High School.

Mrs. Jones was a homemaker and an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Broadneck and Odenton Wards and the Stoney Hill Community Association. Her interests included gardening and her pet birds.

In addition to her father, surviving are three daughters, Kathleen A. Barrett, Pamela M. McDonald and Amy Jones, all of Glen Burnie; four sisters, Karen Nickell of Palmyra, N.Y., Cathy Martin of Spanish Fork, Utah, and Jennifer Clark and Pamela McDonald, both of Rochester, N.Y.; and three grandchildren. She was the mother of Sarah Beth Metz, who died in August 2006, and sister of the late John Rayner.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway in Severna Park. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 528 Higgins Drive in Odenton. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, 5829 Ritchie Highway in Brooklyn.
