Berkeley Elizabeth Sadowski, 85, a resident of Annapolis for 56 years, died January 23 of respiratory failure after a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Sadowski was born March 24, 1922 in Baltimore to John and Grace Krauss and raised in West Baltimore . She was one of the founders of the Providence Center in Annapolis , MD and she worked at ARC of Maryland until she retired in the mid '80s.

Her interests included caring for her family, flower arranging and pottery.

She married the late Edwin John Sadowski, Sr. on October 3, 1952, and he passed away on May 16, 2004. Survivors include one daughter, Berkeley (Robin) Sadowski of Gambrills, MD; a son Edwin J. Sadowski, Jr. of Chester , MD and two grandchildren, Christine & Kyle Sadowski.

A memorial service will be held in the spring. Burial is private.
