Benson B. Pace, 86, died November 12 at his home.

A retired executive and financial consultant, Ben was born in Flushing, NY and grew up in New Milford, CT, where he graduated from New Milford High School. He attended the School of Forestry at Syracuse University, then transferred to the University of Bridgeport, where he majored in economics and graduated with honors. After graduation, Ben served in the United States Navy as a supply and fiscal officer in Guam during the Korean War.

Following his years in the service, Ben worked at the Blackrock Manufacturing Company in Bridgeport, CT, where he served as President until 1960. He then moved to Westborough, MA, where he worked for a number of companies as a financial consultant until he accepted a position as vice president at E.J. Cross Construction Company. He worked at E.J. Cross Construction Company until leaving in 1996. He then held a number of consulting positions which eventually led him to work with Worcester Eisenbrandt in Baltimore until 2009 when he retired.

Ben was married on June 14, 1948 to Shirley Norton of Scarsdale, NY until her long battle with cancer ended August 6, 1996. They had three children together.

Survivors include his second wife of 16 years, Florence Daniels Pace of Severna Park; two sons, James Ira Pace of Oakton, VA and Scott Benson Pace of Laporte, TX; daughter, Patricia Larsen Smith of Apopka, FL; four grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Interment will be at the family cemetery in Bridgewater, CT following a private memorial service at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 5 Main St. S., Bridgewater, CT.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake.
