Beezie, 85, died in her home surrounded by her family after a short illness.
Born Olivia Paxton Hinton on May 15, 1923 in Annapolis, Maryland. Beezie graduated from Annapolis High School and Strayer Secretarial School in Baltimore. She also attended Anne Arundel Community College as a Drama and English major.
Predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Edward Thomas Russell, by her late parents Reba and Hurst Basil, and the late Tom Hinton. Survived by one daughter, Bonnie Wilson of Mt. Airy, Maryland and her husband Steven, and two loving granddaughters Kara Wilson of Morristown, NJ and Kelly Wilson of Severna Park, MD. Also survived by one brother, Donald Hinton of Edgewater, Maryland.
Beezie was a communicant of St. Martin's in the Field Episcopal Church since 1959. She and her husband spent much of their retirement at their vacation home in Seven Springs, PA.
Beezie enjoyed reading, knitting, needlework, eating chocolate in all forms and caring for her pet cats. She was an avid correspondent, who kept in touch with friends dating back to elementary school. Beezie was a sports fan who tailgated at Navy football games, and closely followed her beloved Baltimore Orioles. She spent many hours volunteering at Hilltop Elementary School media center in the 1980's.
Family and friends may visit on Thursday, March 5, 2009 from 4-7 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Gov. Ritchie Hwy. in Severna Park. A Memorial Service will be offered at St. Martin's in the Field Episcopal Church on Friday, March 6, 2009 at 11:00 am. Interment will be in the Church Memorial Garden.
