Beatrice (Bea) G. Langley, 87, a 60 year resident of Severna Park, MD, died on December 19, 2009. She was born November 23, 1922 in Portsmouth New Hampshire to the late Wilfred L. Gillespie and Ruth Bryant Gillespie.


She graduated Portsmouth High School, attended the University of New Hampshire, and graduated with a nursing degree from Peter Bent Brigham School of Nursing. She married her late husband, Delbert C. Langley, in August 1974.


She was the devoted mother of Stephen Sears of Hyde Park, Massachusetts, Janet Justiss of Daingerfield, Texas, Jeanne Mullen of Annapolis, Maryland, and Robert Langley of Branson Missouri. Also survived by 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She started her nursing career as an operating nurse at the old Anne Arundel Medical Center. She was a pediatric nurse for 12 years for Norton & Srsic in Severna Park. She was a faithful member of Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church for over 60 years and especially enjoyed volunteering in the nursery. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels and was a Girl Scout Leader. She enjoyed reading, walking, swimming, sailing, and summer vacations at her lake house on Lovell Lake in Sanbornville, New Hampshire.


Family and friends are invited to a wake on Tuesday, Dec. 22nd at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home on 495 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, MD from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 23 from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m.at Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church on 611 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd., Severna Park, MD. A private interment will be held at Glen Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association online at alz.org.
