BASIL C. GREEN, 92, of Annapolis, MD died Friday, Feb. 18, 2022.

Born in Baltimore, MD, he then lived in Annapolis. Captain Green was retired Chesapeake Bay Pilot with the Association of Maryland Pilots. He retired in 1994 after 44 years of faithful service out of the Port of Baltimore, MD. He piloted thousands of ships through the waters of the Chesapeake Bay and the Chesapeake and Delaware Canals.

He was a member of the American Pilots Association and was a former member of the Annapolis Yacht Club. His special interests included home remodeling and traveling the world with his wife, Joanne.

He was predeceased by his parents, James E. Green, Sr. and Regina (nee Clarke) Green and by his brother, James E. Green, Jr.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, the former Joanne Bizub; his three children, Clarke Green and his wife, Cindy of Ocean View, DE, Katherine Kamowski of Cockeysville, MD and Michelle Cardwell and her husband, Gordon of Bishopville, MD; his sister, Jean G. Bateman of Catonsville, MD and his five grandchildren, Trevor and Rachel Cardwell, Jessica Kamowski and Christopher and Tyler Green.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 from 6-8 pm at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P.A. 495 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, MD 21146. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at 10:30am at St. John Neuman Church, 620 N. Bestgate Rd., Annapolis, MD.
